So, how do we actually start listening to our bodies?
Here are a few of my top tips:
Body Scan: Take 5 minutes each day to do a body scan. Close your eyes, focus on your breath, and slowly bring your awareness to each part of your body, noticing any sensations, tension, or discomfort.
Journaling: Keep a journal to track your symptoms, mood changes, and activities. Over time, you might identify patterns and connections that help you understand your body's messages.
Mindfulness: Practices like meditation or deep breathing can increase your body awareness. By focusing on the present moment, you can become more attuned to subtle signals you might otherwise miss.
Remember, You Have the Power
Listening to your body is a journey, not a destination. There will be days when you're too busy or stressed to pay attention, and that's okay. The important thing is to start making an effort, to prioritize your well-being. Even small changes, like taking a relaxing bath or getting enough sleep, can make a big difference.
Remember, you are the expert on your own body.
