As many of you know, I’ve been on a decade-long health journey. The latest steps towards my golden glow, included recent INUSpheresis treatments only available in Europe and dental surgery for cavitation removal as well as titanium implant replacement, which required me to prioritize my body’s healing process once again.
SO… with the holiday season now in full swing, it’s more important than ever to remember the power of slowing down.
How are you going to practice the art of doing less?
It's easy to get caught up in the endless cycle of cooking, cleaning, decorating, and socializing. But taking time to rest and recharge is essential for both physical and mental well-being.
Slowing down can help:
Reduce stress: When we slow down, we give our minds a chance to rest and recover from the constant demands of daily life. A study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that people with lower stress levels had a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and premature death.
Enhance creativity: When we're not constantly rushing and multitasking, our minds have the space to wander and make new connections. This can lead to innovative ideas and creative breakthroughs.
Strengthen relationships: Spending quality time with loved ones without rushing can deepen connections. Gather around the table for a game of cards, share what you are thankful for, and dance the night away.
A few options to slow down:
Mindful moments: Practice mindfulness techniques like meditation or deep breathing to stay present. I enjoy listening to Dr. Joe Dispenza, especially this 25-minute self-healing meditation.
Digital detox: Consider unplugging one hour before bed and turning your phone's Wi-Fi off while you sleep. Studies suggest that Wi-Fi exposure may disrupt sleep, increase headaches, and potentially impact fertility and cancer risk.
So how do you define self-care, and what does it look like for you? I would love to hear in the comments below.
What I am loving:
Given my health journey, I've been hesitant about Botox (this is not an easy decision and I do not judge anyone who chooses to use it!). So, I'm excited that I found Oliveda F59. This waterless beauty serum, packed with hydroxytyrosol and para cress (natural alternative to botox), promises a natural lift and reduced pore size.
